With baby number two in tow, the musician is onto the next project — designing uniforms for Rande Gerber’s Living Rooms at the W hotels. Her Harajuku Lovers young contemporary apparel and accessories are also going strong, according to retailers, as is her new Harajuku Lovers fragrance.
The L.A.M.B. fragrance has an estimated $30 million in annual sales and Harajuku Lovers has already tripled that.
In his hometown of Chicago, his first store, Clandestine Industries, is reeling in customers eager to copy his onstage looks. Wentz has DKNY Jeans to thank for jump-starting his fashion career.
Nordstrom has the exclusive this fall for the label’s wholesale.
She may be a big star on “The Hills,” but Conrad is even more serious about fashion, claiming she’ll always be a designer even once the reality show ends. The year-old line is already a $4 million business.
“The sell-throughs have been fantastic,” said Frank Doroff, vice chairman at Bloomingdale’s.
“We got it in and sold out immediately. We can’t get the merchandise on the floor fast enough. It is, by far, the best-selling celebrity line we have. It’s so much better than I thought it would be.”
“We’re constantly learning, not only aesthetically, but from the point of view of being a new business,” Savannah Miller said.
I actually saw No Doubt in concert several years ago, and it was clear that Gwen Stefani had her own sense of fashion. It turns out that a lot of other people appreciate her style and want to get a little piece of it. Stefani was able to bring some of her style to the masses when she launched her own line, called L.A.M.B. in 2003.
The line includes clothing, accessories, and even a perfume called “L.” My cousin got a bottle of it for Mother’s Day today, and it smells pretty nice. I had a hard time distinguishing exactly what floral scent I was smelling, and now I know why. Apparently it includes hyacinth, violet, freesia, rose, lily, jasmine, orange blossom, and sweet pea, in addition to some fruits and musk. Somehow, it seems to be both light and heavy at the same time.
The fashions aren’t exactly my style, but they are definitely fun and unique. There’s a lot of black and white and checkers. With products as varied as Rasta hats and track suits, the line is really eclectic. Apparently Nicole Kidman and Teri Hatcher both think it’s pretty cool.
Ever since I heard about this line, I wondered if the name had anything to do with her baby - it’s not too far fetched - but it turns out that it’s from her first debut album, which was called Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (See, it had that word “baby” in it.)
Gwen Stefani has revealed she dreams of having her own beauty line one day. The singer, who is due to release her perfume range Harajuku Lovers this autumn wants to expand further into the cosmetic market, reported FemaleFirst recently. The singer said:
I would love to have a full L.A.M.B. beauty line one day. It makes sense. I’ve always loved doing my hair and makeup and getting all dressed up. When I have a party or an event to go to, getting ready is just as much fun as actually going out.”
As for her perfume line, I can say that Harajuku Lovers is to be made up of five different fragrances based on Gwen and her four dancers Love, Angel, Music and Baby.
“I didn’t think this project would actually come to life,” Stefani added. Gwen confessed she was delighted to find out she had a chance to do five different fragrances for Harajuku Lovers.
It really had to be five, because that’s what the world is.”
Sounds profound and philosophic.
“Each girl has her own personality and sense of style. We’re all saying something different with unique personalities,” Gwen concluded, according to the source.
We’re looking forward for your perfume, Gwen. Sure it’ll be better than Britney’s.
